SLSU - MCC successfully conducts In-House Review of Completed Research and Extension Proposals
Southern Leyte State University- Maasin City Campus (SLSU-MCC) successfully conducted its much-anticipated In-House Review of Completed Research and Extension Proposals on September 23, 2024, bringing together experts and evaluators through a virtual platform, Zoom.
The event, which aimed to assess and improve research and extension outputs, was spearheaded by the Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Office.
The evaluation was enriched by the expertise of Dr. Marie Khul C. Langub, who served as the Research Evaluator, and Ms. Juvenal F. Sumaya, who acted as the Extension Evaluator. Both evaluators provided invaluable insights and suggestions, further enhancing the quality of the presented outputs and/or proposals.
The in-house review showcased a variety of completed research projects and extension proposals, all aimed at advancing SLSU’s mission of fostering innovation and community development. After each presentation, the evaluators offered constructive feedback, enabling the proponents to refine their work for future implementation and potential publication.
The coordinators of the RIES emphasized the importance of continuous development and the role of research and extension in addressing both academic and societal needs and expressed gratitude to the evaluators for their participation and thoughtful feedback, underlining the critical role of evaluation in driving innovation.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Jonathan J. Palco commended the organizers, participants, and evaluators for their dedication and hard work. He reiterated SLSU’s ongoing commitment to promoting research and extension activities that contribute to the betterment of both the local community and the nation.
