Southern Leyte State University Ranks 3rd in Best Agency Performance Review Presentation

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) ranked 3rd in the Best Agency Performance Review (APR) presentation, achieving an average score of 94.25%, during the FY 2024 Midyear Agency Performance Review Consultation cum Full-Time Delivery Unit Meeting. The event involved 12 participating agencies, including 10 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Eastern Visayas, CHEDRO VIII, and TESDA RO VIII. SLSU also secured the 2nd spot for the People’s Choice Award. The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Budget and Management Regional Office No. VIII and was held on August 30, 2024 at the Hyflex Audio-Visual Center, Biliran Province State University, Naval, Biliran.
The APR highlights the physical, financial, and income performance of Southern Leyte State University from January to June 2024. It comprehensively details the University's accomplishments in terms of its 14 performance indicators embedded under the FY 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA) across its four programs: higher education, advanced education, research, and technical advisory extension, as the University continues to uphold its four-fold core mandates. The APR also presents the University’s financial performance, showcasing how efficiently and disciplined it utilizes public funds entrusted to it as a state-funded institution. Additionally, the report reflects the University’s income performance, indicating its efforts in generating and collecting internally generated income to supplement its operations.
Mr. Leo A. Omamalin, University Planning and Development Director, presented the physical performance, while Dr. Christine Alma Mae M. Daguplo, Finance Management Director, presented the financial and income performance, with the full support from Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President, and Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon, Vice President for Administration and Finance.
A highlight of the presentation was the performance of the song "SLSU, DBM Ocho Tungo sa Pagbabago," with lyrics composed by Mr. Omamalin and performed using artificial intelligence. This reflects the University’s belief in the transformative power and ethical use of AI, aligning with its vision of becoming a future-perfect, smart, and green university. The song also pays tribute to SLSU and DBM Ocho for their dedication to serving and building the nation, as well as for safeguarding and valuing the hard-earned money of the Filipino people.
