Southern Leyte State University Hosts Benchmarking Activity with Visayas State University

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) recently welcomed a delegation from Visayas State University headed by Mr. Sean O. Villagonzalo for a benchmarking activity aimed at exchanging knowledge and showcasing SLSU's technological advancements.
The benchmarking activity commenced with a welcome message from Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon, the Vice President for Administration and Finance at Southern Leyte State University. Dr. Baclayon highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing between institutions to foster growth and innovation.
The event featured a series of presentations that highlighted SLSU's expertise in key technological areas. Mr. Nestnie D. Honrada presented on the University Information Systems, detailing how these systems have been pivotal in streamlining processes and improving data accessibility across the university. This was followed by Mr. Ephraim L. Calope’s discussion on the Campus Area Network, where he shared insights into the infrastructure that supports SLSU's digital environment, ensuring efficient and secure communication within the campus. Lastly, Ms. Joedizza L. Pilapil introduced the Executive Dashboard, a tool designed to provide university leaders with critical real-time data to support informed decision-making.
After the presentations, an open forum was facilitated by Mr. Francis Rey F. Padao, the Director of University Information Systems and Analytics of SLSU, allowing for an engaging exchange of ideas and sharing of best practices between the two institutions. The forum was then followed by a campus tour allowing the visitors from VSU to see firsthand the facilities and technologies discussed during the sessions.
The benchmarking activity served as a significant opportunity for SLSU to exhibit its leading practices in the digitalization of university processes. It reinforced SLSU's commitment to excellence and its pivotal role in advancing the integration of cutting-edge technologies within higher education administration.
