Southern Leyte State U represents Region 8 at SUC Fair 2024

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) proudly represented Region 8 at the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) FAIR 2024, held in Zamboanga City from July 9-11, 2024. This event brought together educational institutions from across the country, showcasing talents and fostering cultural exchange.

Craig Nathan Picardal, a BSIT student of SLSU, competed in the Lente: Photography Competition. His entry, titled "La Perspectiva," beautifully captured a smiling man while playing one of the indigenous instruments of Mindanao, which showcased depth and emotional connection of people with music.

Kathrina Gallano a BS Computer Engineering student captivated the audience during the Cultural Show of the Visayas. Her enchanting performance of three Visayan folk songs drew significant attention and admiration, highlighting the rich musical heritage of the region.

SLSU's participation in the SUC FAIR 2024 not only demonstrated the university's commitment to excellence in arts and culture but also strengthened its reputation in the national stage. The university also showcased in the R8 Booth some of its food products (Taro Cookies, Taro Cheese Sticks, and Taro Butterscotch , produced by the Center for Organic and Natural Food Research (CONFoR), in the R8 Booth.
