SLSU-Tomas Oppus hosts an Education Forum with TVU MAEd students and Director
The Education Forum: An Internalization Engagement of SLSU-Tomas Oppus Graduate School with Tra Vinh University was held at the mini theatre of the SLSU-TO campus on March 22, 2024, with the theme: "Cutting-edged Approaches in Navigating the Demands of Education 5.0: Pathways for a Future-Proof, Resilient and Agile Educational Leadership and Management."
This was attended by the MAEd students of Tra Vinh University accompanied by Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, SLSU-TO faculty and staff, students from the Graduate school, both MAEd and EdD, as well as a few of the student teachers.
The program commenced with the minstrels singing the invocation and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by the SLSU-TO rondalla. Dr. Lilibeth Tindugan, Program Head and Educational Management, delivered the welcome words. After that, Dr. Clemente H. Cobilla introduced the first keynote speaker, Dr. Marie Khul C. Langub, Director of Research and Innovation SLSU.
The first speaker on the Global Demands in Education 5.0 is Dr. Marvin S. Daguplo, who will discuss 21st Century Clusters and Micro-Credentialing. Next to present is Mr. Rex M. Lucino about The Open University. The last to show with the topic, Harmony Across Borders: Exploring Mental Health and Resilience in Cultural Exchange, is Mrs. April Rose Estrella Juble.
After the fellowship lunch, the program resumed in the afternoon, during which they had their open forum. The first question was asked by Dr. Thong, who asked what we can do to improve the emotional intelligence of leaders. This was answered by Dr. Marie Khul Langub, who gave the floor to Ms. April Rose Estrella since she said it was already in psychology. Dr. Marvin Daguplo also gave further insights regarding that matter.
Mr. Pham Van Tam, the Tra Vinh University Representative, gave the impressions where he expressed his gratitude for the experience that was imparted on their journey. He also shared that their experience and the warm welcome made their stay valuable as they learned insights. Mr. Tam was impressed with his profound national pride and international openness, which characterized the Filipino spirit.
Before Dr. Norla Grace Betarmos gave the Summary of Collaborative Projects, she first shared her realizations with the Academic Heads to understand what everyone learned. Dr. Jude A Duarte, SLSU President and Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong expressed their commitment to each other's universities.
Dr. Duarte commits that SLSU will share everything with Tra Vinh University for the good of both parties. Meanwhile, Dr. Thong shared their experiences with the MAEd students when they arrived in the Philippines. Following this was the awarding ceremony of the MAEd students and Dr. Thong. Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, the ELIA Director, stated the closing remarks.
The event concluded with a singing of the Southern Leyte State University Hymn.
