SLSU welcomes MAEd Students from Tra Vinh University, Vietnam
Southern Leyte State University welcomes the Master of Arts in Education exchange students from Tra Vinh University, Vietnam, with an opening program held at the SLSU Board Room on March 18, 2024.
Tra Vinh University, an active collaborator of SLSU, sent off five of their MAEd students, namely Ms. Tran Hoang Phuong Thuy, Ms. Ho Thi Thuy Tien, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Truc, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, and Mr. Pham Van Tam, to participate in the Student Immersion Program at Southern Leyte State University for Master of Arts in Education for Professional and Cultural Enrichment. Together with them is an alumna of the SLSU Graduate School's Doctorate in Education Program (EdD), Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong.
During his speech, Dr. Thong reiterated that returning to the Philippines and SLSU feels like coming back home.
This Student Immersion Program aims to engage in face-to-face mobility and expose international students to Philippine education management and culture. Hence, the recently conducted opening program symbolized the beginning of an immersive experience to foster professional development and cultural enrichment.
The said event was graced by the SLSU Key Officials: University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte; Vice President for Admin and Finance Dr. Deewoowoogen Baclayon; Vice President for Student and Auxiliary Services Dr. Annabelle M. Hufalar; and the newly installed Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr.
From the main campus, the Director of External Linkages and International Affairs, Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, and the Director of the SLSU Graduate School, Dr. Rhoderick Malangsa, joined the event ceremonies.
Officials from the Tomas Oppus Campus also witnessed the event, including Dr. Clemente S. Cobilla, the Campus Director of Tomas Oppus Campus, Dr. Norla A. Betarmos, the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Lilibeth S. Tindugan, the Program Head for Educational Management, Dr. Sybill Krizzia G. Ledesma, the Principal of the SLSU Laboratory High School, and other officiating faculty.
