SLSU-San Juan Campus embarks on partnership with 6 So. Leyte Mayors for One Pacific, One Tourism extension project
Southern Leyte State University-San Juan Campus took a significant step forward by conducting a memorandum of agreement review and consultation involving mayors and tourism officers from six municipalities of the Pacific areas of Southern Leyte on February 7, 2024, at the Legislative Building, Saint Bernard. This joint endeavor marks a pivotal phase in implementing the One Pacific, One Tourism (1P1T) extension project.
The event, graced by the esteemed presence of Hon. Reynaldo D. Saludo, municipal mayor of San Juan, and Hon. Evelyn T. Lee, municipal mayor of Hinundayan, brought together various stakeholders committed to enhancing regional tourism. Meanwhile, Dr. Melvin S. Sarsale, Head of Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support from various stakeholders in fostering this partnership.
The 1P1T website was developed by the Information Technology Department faculty members, with Dr. Ines G. Falcon as the project leader. The website is designed to showcase the unique offerings of each municipality and provide a platform for visitors to explore the diverse cultural and natural attractions.
As the project progresses, the collaboration is anticipated to boost tourism and contribute to the socio-economic development of the Southern Leyte communities. The commitment shown by SLSU-San Juan Campus, municipal mayors, and tourism officers reflects a shared vision for thriving and sustainable tourism.
