SLSU-Bontoc Faculty among the poster presenters during the 35th Joint ViCARP- RRDEN Regional RDE Symposium
Adjudged qualified after two (2) levels of reviews: Agency In-House RDE Review followed by the Inter-Agency RDE Review /Cluster Review, SLSU-Bontoc Faculty and Extension Coordinator Ms. Maria Fe Novere Amor is among the poster presenters during the 35th Joint Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Program-Regional Research and Development/Extension Network (ViCARP-RRDEN) Regional Research, Development, Extension and Innovation (RDEI) Symposium organized on November 30 - December 1, 2023 at the RDE Hall of the Visayas State University (VSU), Baybay City, Leyte. Ms. Amor's scientific poster entitled "Socio-economic Profile, Social Conditions, and Occupational Activities Pre and During COVID-19 Pandemic among Selected Fisherfolks in Southern Leyte, Philippines", developed from a component project of SLSU-Bontoc's Extension Program "Empowerment of Fisherfolks for Livelihood security and Better Management of Coastal Resources" funded by the Commission on Higher Education under the National Agriculture and Fisheries Education System (NAFES), was one of the 42 scientific posters that were pitched and presented to the esteemed panel of evaluators chaired by Dr. Rotacio S. Gravoso of VSU along with Prof. Rosa Ophelia D. Velarde, VSU's Director for Research, and Dr. Julie D. Tan, VSU's retired Professor.
The annual regional research competition, funded and supported by Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) and Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Agricultural Research (DABAR) are organized to select outstanding research papers and to showcase RDE information and technologies generated by consortium's member institutions in the Eastern Visayas. This year's research gathering with the theme "Navigating Innovations and Trends in AANR: Sustainable Pathways for Tomorrow and Beyond" is also a celebration of ViCARP's 45th Founding Anniversary.
