SLSU - ITSO drives Patent Search Writeshop for BS Industrial Technology Students
The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) recently conducted a Patent Search Writeshop tailored for students in the College of Technology, focusing on those studying BS Industrial Technology. This hands-on session targeted six majors, covering Automotive Technology, Drafting Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Food Preparation and Services Technology, Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology. This write-shop aims to provide students with the skills and know-how for the early stages of their research ideas.
On November 22, 2023, the Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Center buzzed with activity as two sections from Food Preparation and Services Technology, led by Ms Geneza T. Suhillo, dived into the writeshop. The goal is to equip students with skills for navigating the patent world. The first session, led by Rio Katrina C. Avila, a chem patent drafter, covered "Intellectual Property System." Students explored the ins and outs of safeguarding their smart ideas. Next up, Engr. Khorina O. Aguilar, the Innovation and Technology Support Office head, demystified the "Basic Patent Search and its Tools and Strategies."
The write-shop doesn't end here! More majors in BS Industrial Technology will get their turn, with another round set for November 29 and December 6, 2023.
