SLSU-MCC faculty members present papers during 5th International Conference of the Arts and Sciences
On September 20-21, 2023, Southern Leyte State U – Maasin City Campus faculty members showcased their academic prowess in contribution to the global body of knowledge as they presented their research papers via Zoom during the 5th International Conference of the Arts and Sciences. The event was hosted by the Cebu Normal University College of the Arts and Sciences, attracting worldwide scholars, researchers, and academicians.
The conference aimed to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, explore innovative approaches to various challenges, and advance knowledge in the arts and sciences. The SLSU-Maasin City Campus, known for its commitment to academic excellence and research, was well-represented at the conference. Four faculty members from the two departments within the university presented their research papers, spanning a wide range of topics and disciplines.
Dr. Jonathan J. Palco, from the Social Work Department, presented their two collaborative research on "The Lived Experiences of the College of Maasin Student-Athletes" and "Level of Difficulty of General Physics 1 and 2 Among Grade 12 STEM Students at the College of Maasin."
Ms. Juvenal F. Sumaya, from the Public Administration Department, presented her research on "Factors Affecting the Customer Patronage of Philippine Postal Corporation in Maasin City Post Office, Southern Leyte."
Dr. Magdaleno T. Samaco Jr., from the Public Administration Department, presented his research on "Accountability in the Implementation of the Infrastructure Development Program in the City of Maasin, Philippines: A Case Study."
Ms. Irene P. Carbonilla, also from the Social Work Department, presented their collaborative research with Dr. Samaco on the "Extent of Influence of Factors on the Motivation of Inclusive Program Implementers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development."
