SLSU Food Tech Students receive invitation to 2023 Food Hack in Sweden
Two SLSU Food Technology students from Team KaPudTek, SLSU’s entry during the 2023 FoodFactory-4-Us International Student Competition, held last June 1, 2023, are invited to compete at the Food Hack in Umeă, Sweden, this September 6-8, 2023.
This activity will unite local students and winners of the international competition in an intensive session addressing the local wild berry business in Northern Sweden. The Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) will sponsor roundtrip airfare tickets from any country in Europe to the venue and accommodation at the Pink House, RISE in Umea, Sweden. Other teams from Thailand and Spain will join SLSU BSFT students.
SLSU’s KaPudTek project entitled “The Pinoy Trike: A Mobile Fruit Market for Highland Farmers in the Philippines,” intending to address the high cost of transporting commodities from highland farms to lowland markets in the country, won 3rd Place during the FoodFactory-4-Us International Student Competition.
