Southern Leyte State U to host 1st regional programming contest
Southern Leyte State University is set to host the first-ever regional programming competition for students across Eastern Visayas.
The event is a collaborative effort with the Eastern Visayas chapter of the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE-EV).A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Southern Leyte State University through the College of Computer Studies and Information Technology (CCSIT), and PSITE-EV on June 1, 2023.
The primary objective of this competition is to promote programming skills, encourage healthy competition, and facilitate knowledge exchange among participants. It also aims to enhance the critical thinking and problem-solving abilities of Information Technology Education students in the region.
Distinguished personalities attended the event, including Dr. Jude Duarte, the University President, Dr. Anabelle Hufalar, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dewowoogen Baclayon, Vice President for Students and Auxiliary Service, Dr. Rhoderick Malangsa, Director for Research and Innovation and PSITE-EV PIO, Mr. Francis Rey Padao, Director for the University Information Systems and Analytics and PSITE EV-VP for External Affairs, Dr. Reymon Santiañez, President of PSITE-EV, Mr. Fernando Quiroz, Assistant Secretary of PSITE-EV, and CCSIT faculty members.
