Filipino prof is named Outstanding Educator in Filipino
A faculty member of Southern Leyte State University-Tomas Oppus Campus and a Filipino professor of the College of Teacher Education has received yet another recognition from non-government organizations.
Dr. Mark B. Galdo is recognized as an Outstanding Educator in Filipino during the 3rd Luminary Excellence in Education and Research Awards held on May 27, 2023.
The event, which adopted a hybrid setup, recognized Dr. Galdo's exceptional contributions to the field of education.
The Luminary Excellence in Education and Research Awards, organized collaboratively by the Lumina Foundation for Integral Human Development and the Network of Professional Researchers and Educators, Inc., aims to honor individuals who have made outstanding strides in education and research, inspiring others to pursue excellence and innovation in their respective fields.
Dr. Galdo was nominated Kasamahan sa BANWIFIL (Bigkis at Alyansa ng mga Nagtataguyod ng Wikang Filipino) Inc., an organization of Filipino educators which he is a member of for three years.
The selection committee Dr. Galdo for his remarkable achievements within his area of expertise, extensive involvement in research projects, and successful implementation of impactful extension activities.
Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Dr. Galdo is truly honored and humbled to receive the award.
“This recognition serves as a testament to the collective efforts of my mentors, colleagues, and students who have constantly inspired and supported me throughout my journey. I remain committed to the pursuit of educational excellence and the advancement of Filipino language and culture,” he said.
The Outstanding Educator for Filipino award follows Dr. Galdo’s recent accolade as the recipient of Asia's Outstanding Young Educator Award.
