CHED conducts on-monitoring evaluation, assessment of projects of Bontoc Campus

The monitoring team of the National Agriculture and Fisheries Education System of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED-NAFES) evaluated and assessed the status and accomplishments of the CHED-funded extension projects carried out by Southern Leyte State University-Bontoc Campus under the scope of Empowerment of Fisherfolks for livelihood Security and Better Management of Coastal Resources on November 10, 2022.

Through the CHED-NAFES grant, the campus has been actively engaged in extension activities in the communities, particularly with farmers and women's organizations. These include the Tilapia fish ponds in Brgy. Magatas, Sogod, and the Fish Deboning Training for the mothers in Liloan, Southern Leyte.

The ocular visit comprises a presentation of the accomplishment report and a site visit of the following projects: Empowerment of Fisherfolks, including Vulnerable Groups of Women and OSY, through Adaptation of School-on-the-Air (SOA) Program and Implementation of Fisheries and Aquaculture Clinic; Alternative and/or Supplemental Livelihood Generation through Cultivation of Hatchery Produced Aquatic Seeds; Regeneration of Mangal Forest as Habitats for Potential Release of Hatchery-Bred Fish Stocks and Promotion of Social Responsibilities.

The CHED monitoring team led by Ms. Mayumi Belandres, OIC-Chief, OPRKM-RMD, together with Dr. Emma K. Sales, Ophelle Balolong, and the CHED Regional Office VIII Representative, graced this activity.
