SLSU-TO, LGU TO launch Project Write It Right
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) - Tomas Oppus Campus English and Filipino Faculty, in collaboration with LGU Tomas Oppus, officially kicked off "Project Write It Right" on October 16, 2024. This project aims to enhance the writing skills of barangay officials in LGU Tomas Oppus.
Day 1 of the training commenced with a focus on crafting formal letters, including requests, invitations, and other essential correspondence. The training is designed to equip local government officials with the necessary skills to improve their documentation practices.
This project consists of a series of trainings that will be conducted over three Wednesdays. Barangay officials expressed enthusiasm about the training which recognized the importance of effective communication in their roles. In the upcoming sessions, participants will craft more documents and engage in hands-on activities to practice their writing skills which ensures that they are equipped with the tools necessary to enhance their administrative capabilities.
This project aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. By empowering local officials with essential communication skills, the project not only promotes education but also strengthens governance and community engagement, which contributes to the overall development and sustainability of LGU Tomas Oppus.
