SLSU, DOLE, and LGU Sogod collab for 8th One-Stop-Shop Jobs Fair 2026
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region VIII and the Local Government Unit of Sogod, successfully conducted the 8th One-Stop-Shop Jobs Fair 2026 on June 12, 2026, at the Sogod Municipal Gym. The event brought together employers, government agencies, and jobseekers under the theme, “Disenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat: Isang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating.”

The program commenced with the welcome message delivered by Ms. Jessa Laarni B. Espinas, Director for Student Affairs and Services. This was followed by the inspirational message of Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President, reaffirming the University's commitment to producing employable graduates and supporting community development through meaningful partnerships.
The participating agencies and employers were acknowledged by Atty. Ramil Golo, Vice Mayor of Sogod. The event also featured the Message of Support and Launch of DOLE Kalayaan Activities by Atty. Dax B. Villaruvel, Regional Director of DOLE Region VIII, the Ceremonial TUPAD Payout, Ceremonial Livelihood Turnover, and the Job Fair Overview presented by Ms. Lizjie Ann P. Ladrera, before the official opening of the LGU Sogod/SLSU/DOLE Trabaho Agad Job Fair 2026.
The job fair successfully catered to 129 jobseekers, with 13 applicants hired on the spot, demonstrating the effectiveness of the initiative in providing immediate employment opportunities.

Eleven participating establishments offered various career opportunities: UNO Online Tutorial Services, DES Marketing–Sogod Branch, Simon Agribusiness Corporation, Gaisano Capital Sogod, Lenwon Air System Corporation, Pacifica Agrivet Supplies, Inc., Channel Precision Inc., Pryce Gases Inc., Tacloban Winner Marketing Corporation, ERT-CDE Holdings, Inc./Dayka and Tuna Republik, and Bo's Coffee–Sogod.
The event was further strengthened by the participation of partner national government agencies, namely the Social Security System (SSS), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which provided essential services and assistance to applicants.
The successful conduct of the 8th One-Stop-Shop Jobs Fair 2026 reflects Southern Leyte State University's continuing commitment to extending quality public service beyond the classroom by fostering partnerships that promote employment, community engagement, and inclusive economic growth for the people of Southern Leyte.
