Exciting Progress for Southern Leyte’s Agri-Fishery Sector

On August 19, 2024, a dedicated team from the Fisheries and Marine Biology Department of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) - Bontoc assessed the proposed site in Maac, Sogod for a mariculture project. This initiative, part of the “Enhancement and Development of the Agri-Fishery Sector in Southern Leyte” program, is a collaborative effort with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and MSWDO-Sogod through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). The project aims to establish a milkfish floating cage, which will be managed by members of the Maac Sustainable Livelihood Program Association, offering sustainable livelihood opportunities for the local community.
Stay tuned for more updates as we work together to promote and develop our region's agri-fishery sector!
