CHTM Leaders celebrate World Tourism Day through Mangrove Planting

A resilient mangrove tree, thriving in its coastal habitat, stands as a symbol of sustainability, community, and hope.
In celebration of World Tourism Day, with the global theme “Tourism and Green Investment,” the Hotel, Management and Tourism Leaders (HTML) proudly spearheaded an off-campus initiative that highlights the interconnection of tourism, environmental protection, and community collaboration.
This meaningful activity, which involved mangrove planting served as a concrete step toward advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly: SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life on Water, SDG 15: Life on Land and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Sir Alvin Hinay Calimbas of LGU Sogod for his commendable coordination efforts, and to Sir Carlou Ampo of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), for his active participation and field support. Their valuable contributions played a vital role in the success of this initiative.
By coming together in the spirit of shared responsibility, we affirm that sustainable tourism is not only about protecting places—it is about empowering people, forging partnerships, and securing the future.
