ELIA, KF21 Ambassador attend the Wadhwani Foundation Partners’ Summit 2024
On November 15, 2024, Southern Leyte State University External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) and KF21 Ambassador joined the Partners’ Summit organized by the Wadhwani Foundation, held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila. Representing SLSU were Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, Director of ELIA, and Ms. Carmelle A. Narit, President of the KF21 Ambassadors, as one of the Wadhwani Foundation’s university partners in Region 8.
This year’s summit revolved around the theme, “Educate, Engage, Elevate with the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs.” The event commenced with a keynote address by Mr. Meetul Patel, President of the Wadhwani Foundation, who introduced Ignite 5.0 and the Campus Ambassador Initiative, aiming to revolutionize the student entrepreneurial journey.
The interactive panel session, titled Fireside Chat: Fostering a Dynamic Startup Ecosystem through Government-Academe Partnership, featured expert speakers, including the Regional Director of DOST-NCR, Engr. Romelen Tresvalles; Member of the Board of Trustees, National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, Mr. Michael Tiu Lim; and President of the Strategic and Collaborative Alliance for Leveraging the Ecosystem of Startups-NCR (SCALE NCR), Ms. Maria Cristina Ibanez.
As Southern Leyte State University commits to promote and empower students with entrepreneurial education in campus with the support of Wadhwani Foundation, it connects the KF21 ambassadors and the student with the global network of fellow empowered students across the global south. This provides students with valuable opportunities to collaborate and share insights with peers across the globe.
