SLSU receives recognition for excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

At the 24th Gawad Kalasag Awards, SLSU was honored by the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for its outstanding contributions to disaster preparedness, humanitarian assistance, and inclusive DRRM practices.

This led to another recognition that highlights the University’s continuous efforts as a key partner and critical institution in strengthening regional disaster resilience. Gawad KALASAG (DRRM) is the Philippines’ premier national award for excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). It recognizes institutions, local governments, schools, communities, and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding, innovative, and sustained efforts to make people safer before, during, and after disasters.

The award was conferred during KABASKOG: Recognizing Champions in DRRM on 20 January 2026 at the Radiant Hotel and Events Place, Tacloban City.
