SLSU, LTO Hold Driving Course to Boost Road Safety, Ease Traffic in Nearby Communities

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), in partnership with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 8, successfully conducted a two-day Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) on August 28–29, 2025.
The training, spearheaded by the Offices of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Vice President for Student and Auxiliary Services, and the Office of Security and Safety Services, gathered university officials, faculty, staff, and students.
Designed to comply with legal driving requirements, the program also aimed to instill the knowledge, skills, and values essential for safe and responsible driving. Participants completed a one-hour examination and received their TDC Certificates, affirming both compliance and their strengthened grasp of road safety and traffic rules.
The initiative complements the university’s implementation of its RFID vehicle access system, while also promoting safer traffic flow and reducing parking congestion in nearby communities, particularly Barangay Rizal and Barangay San Roque.
With this effort, SLSU reaffirmed its commitment to promoting safety, discipline, and responsibility both on the road and within the wider community.
