SLSU Researchers Goes Digital in Disaster Response through eDROMIS

In a proactive stride toward disaster resilience, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) proudly showcases the Electronic Disaster Response Operations Monitoring Information System (eDROMIS), a web-based platform developed by Czarina Ancella Guasa Gabi, Cyrille Ford Mulaan, and Vanessa Larita. Designed to digitize and streamline disaster response workflows, eDROMIS empowers LGUs by enabling accurate and timely data collection on vulnerable households, evacuation center capacity, lifeline statuses, and aid distribution. It supports offline data encoding, geospatial visualization through OpenStreetMap integration, and reporting dashboards tailored to decision-makers’ needs.
With ISO 25010 software quality evaluation confirming its functionality, reliability, and security, and high user acceptance ratings, eDROMIS strengthens LGU readiness, speeds up resource mobilization, and enhances situational awareness before, during, and after emergencies. By supporting risk-informed planning and response operations, eDROMIS exemplifies SLSU’s commitment to institutionalizing data-driven, community-centered DRRM solutions.
By improving the efficiency and responsiveness of disaster management, eDROMIS contributes to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by enhancing local disaster preparedness and reducing vulnerabilities. Its data-driven approach to identifying and supporting at-risk populations directly supports SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), ensuring that aid reaches the most vulnerable groups. Through its integration of technology for public service, it also aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting inclusive, accountable, and effective institutions. Furthermore, the system’s geospatial visualization and resource tracking indirectly support SDG 13 (Climate Action) by reinforcing climate resilience through early response and informed recovery strategies.
