SLSU, UNO-R seal partnership through MOU Signing, Benchmarking Visit

On January 16, 2025, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) welcomed a distinguished delegation from the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (UNO-R) for the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions.
The UNO-R delegation was led by their esteemed University President, Fr. Joel A. Alve, OAR, and included key university officials namely, Dr. Agnes C. Sequiño, Director of the Internationalization Office; Dr. Melona Guitche, Director of the Quality Assurance Office; Dr. Annabee M. Claur, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Jean B. Pauyon, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education; Dr. Ma. Theresa H. Chavez, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Grace Lopena, Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy; Dr. Elmer Haro, Dean of the College of Information Technology; Ms. Irish Tagapan, Head of the School of Agriculture; and Mr. Kit Martin de Paula, OIC Director of the Marketing Office. Joining the delegation was Ms. Jennifer Montero, Regional Manager of Camosun International, Camosun College, adding an international perspective to the collaboration.
The visit was marked by the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which will lay the foundation for future collaborations between the two universities.
During the visit, UNO-R had the opportunity to learn about SLSU's successful programs and initiatives. In a series of insightful discussions, SLSU highlighted its innovative academic offerings, university strategies, and student services. This exchange allowed UNO-R to gain valuable perspectives on how SLSU fosters growth and excellence within the university community.
The activity emphasized the importance of partnership and knowledge-sharing in enhancing the quality of higher education, and both universities are excited about the potential for future joint projects and collaborations.
