SLSU-MCC Leads Tree-Growing Initiative to Mark Civil Service Anniversary
As part of the celebration for the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Southern Leyte State University-Maasin City Campus (SLSU-MCC) Office of Human Resource and Management, alongside the Office of Safety and Security, organized a tree-planting event at Hapitan Beach & Mangrove Eco-Forest Park, Barangay Manhilo, Maasin City, on September 11, 2024. This event, part of the "LINGGO NG KALIKASAN" theme, underscores the commitment of public servants to environmental conservation and community enhancement.
The initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs including SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
Jeffrey Centeno, Aquaculturist II of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maasin City, served as the guest speaker, emphasizing the significance of sustainable environmental practices. The activity aims to promote ecological preservation and highlight the impact of collective efforts in fostering a healthier environment.
