SLSU-Bontoc participates to CSC’s 2023 Plant-Run
SLSU-Bontoc Faculty along with representatives from other SLSU campuses posed for a photo after participating with 2023 Plant-Run organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in celebration of the 123rd Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service. With the theme “Transforming Public Service in the next decide: Honing Agile and Future Ready Servant-Heroe,” government officials and employees from various agencies and organizations in Southern Leyte gathered at Molopolo Fish and Bird Sanctuary in Macrohon, Southern Leyte on September 17, 2023.
In his welcoming remarks, Hon. Alan Jose Kuizon Aroy, Municipal Mayor of Macrohon, expressed his appreciation for the selection of Macrohon as of this year’s event. He also shared Macrohon’s journey after winning the Nation’s 2018 Search for the Cleanest Coastal Community dubbed as Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan Awards (MMK) organized by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
Dir. Michael Dela Cruz of the CSC Field Office-Southern Leyte acknowledged the participating agencies and organizations and vowed to continue and adhere to CSC’s mandate in promoting welfare of government workers.
Starting with a 1 km Run, the event finished off with a total of 500 Rhizophora seedlings planted along Molopolo’s coastal area.
After being granted their certificates for participating the event, participants enjoyed light breakfast sponsored by various establishments.
