Extension Services office conducts retooling, workshop on harmonization of GAD guidelines to extension PPAs
The Office of Extension Services conducted a three-day training on May 4-6, 2022 on "Retooling and Workshop on Harmonization of Gender and Development Guidelines to Extension Services Program, Project, and Activities (PPAs)" for the selected faculty members from the Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS), College of Criminal Justice (CCJ), and College of Engineering (COE) from Southern Leyte State University-Main Campus.
The workshop aims to capacitate and help the faculty craft an extension program that is gender-responsive. Further, it also stresses the importance of integrating gender and development (GAD) components by retooling these research programs in the use of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) checklist.
This is in response to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 01 series of 2015 which is to establish a gender-responsive extension program to promote and achieve the core value of gender quality. This will pave way for more extensive and effective extension programs that will benefit and transform the quality of life in the communities in the service areas.
