SLSU-TO Professors, Program Heads, Craft Extension TNAs and PPAs

Southern Leyte State University - Tomas Oppus Research, Innovation and Extension Services (SLSU-TO RIES) office successfully conducted a Seminar-Writeshop focused on "Crafting Extension Project Proposals" on March 27-28, 2025, under the Program I CARE TO TEACH, at the Conference Room of the Administration Building. This two-day event was attended by the professors, program heads, and the RIES (Research, Innovation, and Extension Services) team.
The event commenced with an engaging welcome address by Dr. Mark Galdo, RIES Head, who highlighted the significance of effective extension projects. Following this, Ms. Jovillea T. Palanca, Extension Services Coordinator, delivered the statement of purpose, outlining the objectives of the seminar-writeshop. The seminar-writeshop featured two distinguished speakers from SLSU-Main Campus, who shared their expertise in extension project management and evaluation. Mrs. Adelfa Diola, the Extension Director, discussed the approval process for Extension PPAs, emphasizing the critical steps involved in forging partnerships through Memoranda of Agreement (MOA). She also provided valuable guidance on conducting the Trainers' Needs Assessment (TNA). Engr. Lelie Lou B. Bacalla, Head of ES Monitoring & Evaluation, followed with an insightful presentation on the monitoring and evaluation of Extension PPAs.
The seminar-writeshop sessions delved into the specifics of creating TNA and extension project proposals. A key aspect was the presentation of the TNA, a crucial step before drafting any extension PPAs. The session included an open forum where attendees provided suggestions and comments, allowing for the collaborative enhancement of each proposal.
