SLSU-TO, SJC Seal MOA for Extension Collaboration

Southern Leyte State University - Tomas Oppus (SLSU-TO) and Saint Joseph College (SJC) formally launched their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing for Project SULAT (Strengthening Understanding and Leveraging Advances of Research Techniques and Technologies). This extension project is organized by the faculty of the Science Education and Mathematics Education programs of SLSU-TO. The ceremonial signing took place on August 7, 2025, at Ataviado Hall in Saint Joseph College.
The event was attended by key officials from both SLSU and SJC, including Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy; University Director for Extension Services Adelfa Diola; SLSU-TO Administrative Officer Ms. Judy Paz; Head of Research, Innovation, and Extension Dr. Mark Galdo; Extension Coordinator Ms. Ma. Jovillea Palanca; Mathematics Education Program Head Dr. Joey A. Caraquil; and Project Head Dr. Marvin S. Daguplo. Representing SJC were School President Msgr. Oscar A. Cadayona, PhD, SThL-MA; Vice President for Administration Riza Lynn O. Siega, MCS; Vice President for Academics Dr. Jhoanne L. Costillas; and SJC Research Council Executive Director Jhoremar Maldo Asis, MAEd.
The MOA signing ceremony symbolized a shared commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening the research culture across institutions. Project SULAT is envisioned to provide intensive professional training and development, equipping participants with the necessary skills to conduct and disseminate quality research using modern tools and methodologies. This partnership supports Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality research education for all.
