SLSU-TO, MLG College of Learning Hold Peer Review Session

Southern Leyte State University - Tomas Oppus (SLSU-TO) Science and Mathematics Programs continued their commitment to research excellence with another session of Project ARAL 2.0, titled “The Peer Review Process,” held at the Graduate School Building of SLSU-TO. The session was attended by faculty members from both institutions and aimed to deepen participants' understanding of scholarly evaluation while strengthening the quality of research output through critical review.
Mr. Rex Lucino delivered the Statement of Purpose, while Dr. Lilian Balbon explained the Peer Review Process. Central to the session was the structured peer review, where participants’ research works were assessed under the guidance of their mentors from SLSU-TO. This stage involved ensuring compliance with previous suggestions, refining research content, and aligning with scholarly standards. Through a collaborative and iterative approach, each group worked toward finalizing their outputs for external or blind review, a critical step before publication.
Mentors from SLSU-TO provided technical support throughout the activity. Their feedback and guidance enabled participants to critically evaluate their work while considering suggestions for improvement. The process not only cultivated critical thinking but also encouraged a spirit of academic humility and openness to feedback. The session concluded with a closing message from an MLG College of Learning representative, who acknowledged the participants' efforts and the ongoing partnership between the two institutions in fostering a research-driven culture and advancing education.
This event reinforces the goal of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by empowering educators and researchers with the tools and mindset necessary to produce high-quality, impactful research.
