Building Economic Resilience: Financial Literacy Training in Brgy. Pinut-an, San Ricardo, Southern Leyte
The journey toward financial empowerment continued on November 26, 2024, as Brgy. Pinut-an in San Ricardo, Southern Leyte, hosted the Financial Literacy Training under Project AMUMA: Cultivating Financial Resilience for Marginalized Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Economic Growth. The event brought together farmers and fisherfolk from the community, equipping them with essential financial management skills to enhance their economic stability.
The program, held at the barangay’s covered court, was hosted by Jericho Bahinting, who served as the master of ceremonies. His engaging facilitation set the stage for a productive day of learning and community building.
Barangay Captain Hon. Maria Karen B. Ganda welcomed the participants with a heartfelt message, highlighting the vital role of financial literacy in improving livelihoods and fostering long-term economic growth for the barangay’s marginalized sectors.
The training featured Resource Speaker Louremel Marie Muncada, who delivered an insightful presentation on practical financial strategies, including budgeting, saving, and managing debt. Her expertise and relatable examples captivated the audience, ensuring that the concepts were easy to understand and applicable to their daily lives.
Supporting the session were Facilitators Carla Bulacan, Melvin Sarsale, and Dolly Hinayon, who guided participants through interactive activities and discussions. These activities encouraged active participation, allowing attendees to ask questions and share their personal experiences. The facilitators emphasized the importance of implementing the lessons learned to create positive changes in their financial practices.
