SLSU-TO, BLGU TO, Holds Culminating Activity for Project Write It Right
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) - Tomas Oppus Campus, in collaboration with the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) of LGU Tomas Oppus, successfully concluded its “Project Write It Right” on November 28, 2024. The culmination program wrapped up a series of training sessions designed to enhance the writing skills of barangay officials.
The final day of the training focused on the art of crafting effective activity proposals. This session helped the barangay officials draft formal, detailed, and well-structured proposals for various activities. After the lecture, participants shared their outputs, which were reviewed and critiqued by the speakers.
The series of training, which kicked off on October 16, 2024, aimed to strengthen the administrative capabilities and enhance the writing abilities of the barangay officials in Tomas Oppus. The first day, held on October 16, focused on formal letter writing, covering requests, invitations, and other types of correspondence. On November 7, 2024, the second day of the training centered around the crafting of resolutions and ordinances, which are important documents in local governance.
During the culmination program, the barangay officials expressed their appreciation, acknowledging the importance of these skills for enhancing governance and accountability. As the project concluded, it was clear that "Project Write It Right" had made a significant impact on the participants. The barangay officials are now more confident in their writing abilities, which empowers them to contribute to more efficient and transparent governance within their communities. The collaborative effort between SLSU-TO and LGU Tomas Oppus marks a successful milestone in fostering professional development among local leaders, ensuring that they are better equipped to handle their administrative responsibilities and contribute to the growth of their communities. This aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
