SLSU–Hinunangan Faculty Earns Best Paper and Best Paper Presenter Awards at International Education Conference

Southern Leyte State University–Hinunangan Campus faculty member Mary D. Almine, MAEd, was conferred both the Best Paper and Best Paper Presenter awards during the 4th International Conference on Education, held on December 12, 2025, at Partido State University, Goa, Camarines Sur.
 
The international conference, titled “Rethinking Professional Development: From Educators to Innovators,” brought together educators, researchers, and academic practitioners to share innovative approaches and research-driven solutions in education.
 
Almine’s award-winning study, titled “From Input to Output: Assessing the Effectiveness of DECIDE Writing Strategy 2.0 in Enhancing Academic Writing Skills,” highlighted an innovative instructional approach aimed at improving students’ academic writing performance. Her research demonstrated how structured, strategy-based instruction can significantly enhance learners’ writing competence and critical thinking skills.
 
The recognition underscores the quality and relevance of Almine’s research, which advances evidence-based teaching practices and professional development in education. Her work provides valuable insights for educators seeking effective strategies to strengthen academic writing instruction across learning contexts.
 
This achievement reflects SLSU–Hinunangan Campus’ continued commitment to academic excellence, research productivity, and innovation in teaching and learning.
