SLSU and LGU Hinundayan Conduct Impact Assessment of ELEAD Extension Project

On May 9, 2025, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinundayan convened at the Hinundayan Municipal Hall for an Impact Assessment of their collaborative extension project entitled: "Evolving Local Executives to Advocate Development (ELEAD)." 

The extension project aims to increase knowledge of making project proposals, enhance leadership and managerial skills, and improve the ability to create ordinances, resolutions, and proper reports. The impact assessment highlighted the effectiveness of academic-government partnerships in driving sustainable local development. 

The assessment was attended by faculty members from the SLSU-Hinunangan Campus, including Extension Services Coordinator Dr. Fe Alin T. Dalangin, as well as representatives from the SLSU Main Campus, led by Dr. Angel T. Sabusap and Dr. Jasmin Dayunan.

This initiative exemplifies the university's commitment to capacity building and sustainable local governance. By empowering local executives and fostering collaborative governance, SLSU and LGU-Hinundayan have set a precedent for effective community development initiatives.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the following goals are particularly relevant: SDG 4, Quality Education; SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions; and SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals.
