SLSU-San Juan Campus Conducts In-House Review and Evaluation of Extension Services PPAs
Southern Leyte State University–San Juan Campus, through its Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Office (RIES), successfully conducted an in-house review and evaluation of programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) for Extension Services on February 4, 2026, at the RIES Training Hall, SLSU-San Juan Campus. The activity provided a platform for the critical review of extension proposals, reinforcing the university’s commitment to academic excellence and community development. Faculty and staff extensionists demonstrated their dedication through structured presentations aimed at strengthening SLSU’s role in advancing local development initiatives.
During the review, 10 extension proposals, 3 progress reports, and 8 completed papers were evaluated. Each presentation highlighted the importance of extension PPAs in responding to the community's evolving needs. The evaluation panel, composed of Engr. Jonelle H. Tablada, Director for Extension Services and Community Engagement; Ms. Adelfa C. Diola, Head of Monitoring and Evaluation; and Dr. Melvin S. Sarsale, Head of RIES–San Juan Campus, provided expert guidance to help proponents refine their projects for greater alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the university’s strategic vision. This feedback process enabled practical improvements to ensure each PPA’s relevance and positive impact within the community.
This activity exemplifies SLSU’s vision to be a pioneering institution recognized for advancing knowledge, fostering inclusivity, and contributing to sustainable development. By focusing on extension projects grounded in research and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, the campus demonstrates its commitment to implementing programs that directly benefit communities, promote innovation, and support the socio-economic growth of the province and beyond.
This event aligns with Sustainable Development Goals: No. 4 (Quality Education), No. 5 (Gender Equality), No. 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), No. 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), No. 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
