SLSU–San Juan Wraps Up Full Implementation of Advance Queuing System Across All LTO Offices in Region 8

Southern Leyte State University–San Juan Campus, through the Faculty of the Information Technology Department, has successfully completed the implementation of its advanced Queuing System in all Land Transportation Offices across Region 8, ensuring faster, more efficient, and client-centered public service throughout Eastern Visayas.

The final phase of the rollout, conducted from December 15–17, 2025, covered LTO Burauen, LTO Javier, LTO Tacloban Licensing, LTO Tacloban District Office, LTO Tacloban Extension Office, LTO Guiuan, and LTO Mercedes. Earlier this year, the first batch of offices—including LTO Tacloban City, Baybay City, Borongan, Calbayog, Carigara, Catarman, Catbalogan, Maasin City, Palompon, San Juan, Sogod, and their respective extension offices and licensing centers—had already received the system. With the completion of this last batch, all LTO offices in Region 8 are now fully equipped with the Queuing System, streamlining government transactions, reducing client waiting times, and enhancing digital service delivery across the region.

The project was led by Dr. Ines G. Falcon, Project Leader; Mr. Kenneth L. Dugaria, System Developer; Julian S. Samaniego, Jr., Assistant System Developer; Ms. Danna C. Remojo, Activity Leader for IT Trends and System Development Standards; and Ms. Jerry Mae G. Abrigana and Ms. Myla L. Gumanit, Activity Leaders for System Maintenance and Troubleshooting. The extension program focused on training LTO personnel in system navigation, modular integration, IT trends and development standards, and system maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring that the Queuing System operates efficiently, securely, and reliably in compliance with RA 11032 on efficient public service delivery.

This extension project underscores Southern Leyte State University’s commitment to translating research into practical solutions while equipping government personnel with the competencies needed for effective public service. By fully implementing and enhancing the Queuing System, the university promotes innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in government service delivery across Eastern Visayas.

The event aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
