SLSU-TO BSBA Students Clinch Championship in International Business Case Competition 2025 Preliminary Round

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students from Southern Leyte State University–Tomas Oppus (SLSU-TO) emerged as champions in the Preliminary Round of the International Business Case Competition 2025, held on October 3, 2025, at SLSU - San Juan Campus.

The international competition, themed “Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, and Other Special Topics,” hosted by SLSU–San Juan Campus and co-hosted by Universitas Multimedia Nusantara of Indonesia and Tra Vinh University of Vietnam, brought together undergraduate students from various institutions to showcase their analytical and strategic skills in solving real-world business cases.

Eight promising contestants from SLSU-TO were divided into two competing teams. The first team was composed of Engelbert R. Abordo, Kate M. Estefani, Wilson C. Laran, and Cristine Claire P. Lacierda, while the second team included Ellah Vane D. Labastida, Rona Mae G. Godes, Gerald B. Auditor, and Janice Tam-is. The teams were guided by coaches Sir Adjie Segovia and Dr. Merarei Mira Garvez-Gono, who provided mentorship and support throughout the competition.

After a competitive presentation that demonstrated critical thinking and strategic problem-solving, the team of Abordo, Estefani, Laran, and Lacierda triumphed as champions in the preliminary round. Their outstanding performance earned them a coveted spot in the Semi-Final Round of the competition, which will be held on October 29, 2025, in a hybrid format.

This milestone highlights the team’s contribution to advancing SDG 4: Quality Education by showcasing excellence, innovation, and global competitiveness in higher learning.
