Demonstrating a strong commitment to professional growth and public service, Erwin P. Remojo, Administrative Officer V of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Bontoc Campus, successfully completed the four-day Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track 1 conducted virtually from May 4 to 7, 2026.
As a participant representing SLSU Bontoc Campus, Remojo actively engaged in a series of intensive learning sessions designed to strengthen his competencies as a supervisor and emerging leader. Facilitated by resource persons from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office XI, the training provided practical tools and meaningful insights on leadership, communication, stress management, and organizational effectiveness.

The course opened with a focus on personal effectiveness and leadership mindset, where Remojo reflected on the essential qualities of effective leaders, including discipline, resilience, and continuous self-improvement. The sessions emphasized that leadership begins with self-awareness, encouraging participants to examine their values, motivations, and behavioral responses in the workplace.
Throughout the program, Remojo deepened his understanding of stress management and organizational dynamics, gaining practical strategies to identify workplace stressors and manage them effectively. Techniques such as mindfulness, emotional awareness, and maintaining work-life balance were highlighted as essential tools in sustaining productivity and well-being in public service.

A key highlight of the training was the focus on leadership transformation and delegation, where Remojo recognized the importance of empowering teams through trust, accountability, and clear communication. The discussions emphasized the shift from individual performance to leading people and achieving organizational goals through collaboration and shared responsibility.
Communication development remained a central theme of the four-day course. Remojo enhanced his ability to deliver clear and effective messages, practice active listening, and address communication barriers within organizations. These skills are essential in fostering teamwork, strengthening workplace relationships, and promoting organizational harmony within SLSU Bontoc Campus.

On the final day, the training highlighted the human dimension of leadership, particularly empathy and the art of listening. Remojo gained deeper insights into how emotional intelligence and understanding others contribute to improved morale, reduced conflict, and stronger professional relationships.

Reflecting on the experience, the Supervisory Development Course provided Remojo with both technical knowledge and a renewed leadership perspective. The program reinforced the values of adaptability, professionalism, accountability, and people-centered service—principles that are vital in the academic and administrative operations of SLSU Bontoc Campus.
With these strengthened competencies, Erwin P. Remojo of SLSU Bontoc Campus is better equipped to contribute to institutional development and uphold a culture of effective, responsive, and service-oriented public administration.
