Empowering Women through Practical Skills: Sardine 'Lupoy' Bottling and Fish Nuggets Production

On May 9, 2024, BS Fisheries students and Instructor Miss Angelica E. Gerong spearheaded a community extension activity at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) – Bontoc Campus. Themed "Empowering Women through Practical Skills: Harnessing San Ramon's Sardine 'Lupoy' for Bottled Sardines and Fish Nuggets Production," the activity provided members of the Women's Association of Brgy. San Ramon with hands-on training in sardine processing. Participants learned fish cleaning, filleting, bottling, packaging, and essential food safety protocols.

This initiative aimed to foster entrepreneurship, women empowerment, and local livelihood development.
