SLSU Civil Engineering Students Excel in the 40th National Civil Engineering Students’ Quiz – Regional Elimination

Southern Leyte State University congratulates its Civil Engineering students for their commendable performance in the 40th National Civil Engineering Students’ Quiz (NCESQ) – Regional Elimination held on August 23, 2025, at the DPWH Multi-Purpose Hall, Regional Office No. VIII, Government Center, Palo, Leyte.

Representing SLSU, Glazerie M. Pelobello (BSCE 4th Year) earned 4 th place, while Kyle Benjomar C. Gura (BSCE 4th Year) secured 5 th place, demonstrating their knowledge and competitiveness among the region’s best civil engineering students. Completing the team was Clint Joshua E. Rafalle, who also demonstrated remarkable dedication throughout the competition.

The students were guided and coached by Engr. Jason T. Bordas, whose mentorship contributed greatly to the students’ success.

The NCESQ is an annual event organized by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) to promote academic development, camaraderie, and intellectual competitiveness among Civil Engineering students nationwide, in support of SDG 4: Quality Education by fostering lifelong learning opportunities and strengthening the academic foundation of future civil engineers.
