BSCE Third Year students collabs with Brgy. Zone 2, MENRO Sogod for Coastal Clean Up

The third-year students of the Department of Civil Engineering recently conducted a coastal clean-up themed "Waves of Change: Clean Today for a Better Tomorrow" in Barangay Zone 2, Sogod, Southern Leyte on November 29, 2024. Collaborating with local officials from Barangay Zone 2, Sogod Coast Guard, and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, 112 students worked together to clean the coastline.

Through this initiative, the students not only contributed to environmental conservation but also raised awareness about marine pollution and its harmful effects.

This initiative directy contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 15 (Life on Land) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
