SLSU-Hinunangan Benchmarks Printing Security, ICT Infrastructure, Smart Classroom, and Media Technologies in Luzon; Secures MOUs with Copylandia and Anjene
Southern Leyte State University–Hinunangan Campus successfully conducts a three-day benchmarking activity from June 17 to 19, 2026, visiting key government, academic, technology, media, and industry institutions in Metro Manila and nearby areas to explore best practices in secured document printing, information systems, data center operations, smart classroom technologies, media production, audiovisual solutions, and industry-based learning opportunities.

One of the major accomplishments of the activity is the successful securing of Memoranda of Understanding with Copylandia and Anjene Industries, Inc. These partnerships are expected to open opportunities for collaboration, particularly in providing internship avenues for students of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program. The MOUs also signify the campus’s continuing effort to strengthen industry linkages, expose students to real workplace environments, and align academic training with current industry practices.
The activity is spearheaded by Mr. Jonathan L. Pasayan, Head of the Campus Information Systems and Analytics Office, together with Mr. Ruther B. Manun-og, Head of the Information Technology Program, and IT faculty members Mr. Rannie M. Sumacot and Ms. Meechell Ambos-Manun-og.

The benchmarking team visits the National Printing Office, UP Diliman–University Computer Center, and VITRO Data Center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on the first day, June 17. At the National Printing Office, the delegation observes secured printing practices, particularly the production and protection of official academic documents such as Transcripts of Records and diplomas. The team witnesses security features such as invisible ink and check numbers, which serve as reference points for strengthening document authenticity and integrity in academic institutions.
At the UP Diliman–University Computer Center, the group benchmarks systems development and implementation practices, including the center’s role as the internet service provider and backbone of UP Diliman’s network infrastructure. The visit provides insights into how large academic institutions manage connectivity, systems, and digital services to support administrative and academic operations.

The delegation also visits the VITRO Data Center, where strict security protocols are observed. With gate passes issued by the security post, the team is allowed to enter selected areas of the data center while complying with access procedures. The visit offers exposure to enterprise-level infrastructure, physical security, and operational standards used in managing critical digital systems and data services.
On the second day, June 18, the group visits MaxHub, UNTV, and Anjene Industries, Inc. At MaxHub, the team observes technologies designed for smart classroom environments, including interactive displays, collaborative devices, and real-time motion-capturing cameras capable of distinguishing teachers from students. These technologies demonstrate possibilities for enhancing digital instruction, hybrid learning, and interactive classroom delivery.

At UNTV, the delegation tours the station and observes its control rooms, where sophisticated audio and visual equipment are used in broadcast operations. The visit provides the participants with a closer look at professional media production workflows, technical coordination, and communication systems.
The team also visits Anjene Industries, Inc., where they benchmark LED wall and display technologies, including indoor and outdoor display solutions in partnership with Besolutions. As one of the institutions with which SLSU-Hinunangan secures an MOU, Anjene Industries, Inc. is expected to serve as a potential partner for BSIT internships, industry exposure, and future technology-related collaborations.
On the third day, June 19, the delegation visits the Copylandia Main Office, Beyond the Blue, and the Wish 107.5 Bus. At Copylandia, the group observes production equipment and machine operations that serve as potential models for income-generating projects and improved campus-based printing services. The visit also strengthens the campus’s exposure to industry practices in printing, reproduction, document services, and technology-based business operations.
Copylandia also became one of the key partner institutions of SLSU-Hinunangan through the secured MOU. The partnership is expected to support BSIT internship placement, industry immersion, and possible collaboration in areas related to information technology, digital services, office technologies, and production systems.

At Beyond the Blue, a professional sound company, the team witnesses a demonstration of high-end speakers and amplifiers. The company showcases its products and sound system capabilities, providing the participants with insights into professional audio setups that may be useful for institutional events, conferences, and campus programs.
The benchmarking activity concludes with a visit to the Wish 107.5 Bus, where the team is able to enter the mobile broadcasting platform and observe the equipment used by performing singers and artists. The experience provides a unique perspective on mobile media production, live performance recording, and the integration of audio, video, and broadcast technologies.
Through the activity, SLSU-Hinunangan Campus gains valuable exposure to current industry practices and technologies that may help improve campus operations, ICT infrastructure, academic document security, classroom innovation, media production, and possible income-generating initiatives. More importantly, the successful securing of MOUs with Copylandia and Anjene Industries, Inc. marks a significant step in strengthening industry-academic collaboration and expanding internship opportunities for BSIT students.
The initiative reflects the campus’ continuing commitment to innovation, institutional development, industry engagement, and quality instruction through stronger linkages with relevant technology and service-oriented institutions.
Furthermore, the benchmarking activity contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening academic delivery, industry-based learning, and internship opportunities for BSIT students; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by promoting employability, workplace exposure, and potential income-generating initiatives; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by exploring technologies related to ICT systems, data centers, smart classrooms, secure printing, and digital production; SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting document integrity, secured academic records, and reliable institutional processes; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through the establishment of MOUs and strengthened collaboration with industry partners. These targeted SDGs highlight SLSU-Hinunangan Campus’ role in advancing education, innovation, institutional development, and sustainable partnerships.
