SLSU–Tomas Oppus Conducts Workshop on Campus LUDIP Review and Finalization of LUPAD Targets 2026–2029
Southern Leyte State University – Tomas Oppus Campus successfully conducts a one-day workshop on the review of the Campus Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) and the finalization of LUPAD Campus Targets 2026–2029 on May 6, 2026, at the Administration Building Conference Hall to strengthen its long-term infrastructure and development initiatives.

Spearheaded by Judy O. Paz, MM, with the support of campus officials and stakeholders under the leadership of Campus Director Clemente H. Cobilla, Ph.D., the activity gathers participants composed of campus administrators, academic personnel, and student leaders to review existing infrastructure plans and align future developments with LUPAD: Ascending of the Mighty Kingfishers (2025–2029). The participation of 24 males and 21 females reflects the campus’ commitment to inclusive and gender-responsive planning.
The workshop focuses on revisiting and validating the current Campus LUDIP while integrating sustainability, disaster resilience, digital transformation, and gender-responsive principles into future infrastructure projects. Participants review proposed developments, assess campus spatial concerns, and discuss the establishment of accessible, safe, and inclusive facilities for students, faculty, and personnel.

Through collaborative discussions and consensus-building sessions, the attendees contribute recommendations for the formulation of a comprehensive 10-year infrastructure development plan aligned with academic excellence, student welfare, research capability, and community engagement.
Furthermore, the workshop reinforces the university’s adherence to national and international gender and development mandates and its commitment to inclusive and sustainable campus growth.

This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5 on Gender Equality, 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities, 13 on Climate Action, and 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
