Southern Leyte State University Celebrates the Opening of the BARGO Showroom and Administrative Offices
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) marks another milestone with the opening of the Business, Auxiliary, and Resource Generation Office (BARGO) Showroom and new administrative offices on April 28, 2026, held at the Administration Building.
The event commences with a blessing ceremony led by Rev. Fr. Pepito Generan Jr., who blesses the newly established BARGO Showroom and BARG Office, along with the new offices located on the second floor of the Administration Building, formerly the Old University Library. These renovated offices now house the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, the Accounting Office, the Procurement and BAC Office, the Planning Office, and GENSO, symbolizing the university’s continued commitment to improving its facilities and strengthening institutional operations.

Following the blessing, University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte delivers his welcome and inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of establishing strong income-generating projects (IGPs) for the university. He highlights that sustainable initiatives such as BARGO are essential in supporting the university’s financial stability, improving facilities, and providing better services to students, faculty, and stakeholders. He further stresses that these projects significantly contribute to the institution’s long-term growth and development.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony follows, led by University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte, together with Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Christine Alma Mae M. Daguplo, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Constantino G. Medilo Jr., Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, and BARGO Director Engr. The BARGO showroom features a variety of university merchandise and apparel aimed at promoting school identity and pride, while showcasing the creativity and productivity of the SLSU community. The facility serves as a dedicated space for displaying and marketing high-quality university-branded products.
Complementing the showroom, the new BARGO office functions as the central hub for the planning, coordination, and implementation of the university’s income-generating projects. The upgraded workspace is expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen partnerships, and support sustainable initiatives within the institution.

The event concludes with a photo opportunity among university officials, guests, and staff, followed by a closing message delivered by Dr. Christine Alma Mae M. Daguplo, who expresses gratitude to everyone who contributes to the successful completion of the project.

The opening of the BARGO Showroom and the new administrative offices stands as a testament to SLSU’s commitment to strengthening its income-generating initiatives, enhancing workplace efficiency, and creating a more conducive environment for employees and stakeholders alike.
