SLSU Prepares Students for Global Hospitality Internship

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) takes another step toward global excellence as the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management conducts the Final Briefing, Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar, and Guest Serving Workshop on January 20, 2026, at the SLSU Mini Theater.

The event is organized for selected Hospitality Management students who embark on their international internship at the prestigious Langham Hong Kong.

The program opens with a Final Briefing, where coordinators share critical updates and reminders regarding the upcoming internships. This session ensures students remain fully informed on travel logistics, specialized requirements, and professional expectations.

Following the briefing, the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar takes center stage, focusing on international travel protocols, workplace decorum, and multicultural adaptation. Facilitated by Dr. Adalbert Alcayde, the seminar emphasizes the core values of discipline, confidence, and personal responsibility. Dr. Alcayde reminds the cohort of their duty to represent SLSU with distinction as they transition into their roles overseas.

To strengthen practical skills, the Guest Serving Workshop offers intensive training on guest interaction and service standards that align with global hospitality benchmarks. This hands-on drill boosts student confidence and prepares them to deliver high-tier service in a competitive international environment.

The orientation initiative successfully equips the participants with the requisite knowledge and professional mindset for their deployment. The event marks a pivotal milestone in their development into globally competitive professionals, poised to showcase the SLSU brand on the world stage.
