On April 17, 2026, at the FKIP Unisda Lamongan Hall in Sukodadi, Dr. Leslie Elisa S. Cobilla, Associate Professor V, Teaching Internship Supervisor and SEA Teacher Coordinator from Southern Leyte State University – Tomas Oppus Campus, served as Guest Lecturer and Speaker during the International Seminar for the 11th Batch of the SEA Teacher Project hosted by Universitas Islam Darul 'Ulum Lamongan, Lamongan, East Java, Indonesia.

The seminar, organized by the Faculty of Teacher Education (FKIP), carried the theme, “Situational Leadership in Internship: Role of the Supporting (Mentoring) Style in Teaching (EFL) and (ESL) Across Borders.” The event brought together faculty members and pre-service teachers participating in the SEAMEO Pre-Service Student Exchange Program.

Dr. Cobilla delivered a comprehensive lecture on the application of situational leadership in internship programs, emphasizing the importance of adopting a supporting or mentoring leadership style in guiding pre-service teachers. She highlighted how this approach is particularly vital for interns teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English as a Second Language (ESL) in culturally diverse and cross-border educational settings. Drawing from her experience as Teaching Internship Supervisor at SLSU-Tomas Oppus Campus, Dr. Cobilla shared practical mentoring strategies, real internship scenarios, and best practices in supervising SEA Teacher participants. Her presentation fostered meaningful dialogue and engagement among attendees, reinforcing the importance of collaborative leadership and sustained academic partnerships across Southeast Asia.
