SLSU-ITSO Secures Fourth Platinum Award at 2026 ITSO Presidents’ Summit
The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) has once again brought honor to the university after receiving its fourth Platinum Award during the 2026 ITSO Presidents’ Summit and General Assembly, held in Iloilo City on March 25–26, 2026, anchored on the theme, “15 Years of Strengthening the Philippine TISCs: Innovation and Creativity Toward Sustainable Technology Transfer.”
Organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), the summit convened university presidents, ITSO managers, and innovation leaders from across the country.

The recognition reflects the sustained commitment and collaborative efforts of the SLSU-ITSO community in advancing intellectual property development and innovation initiatives. It also underscores the dedication of the university’s ITSO patent drafters headed by Ms. Rio Katrina Avila, The IPTBM Team head by Dr. Melvin Salsale, Engr. Jonelle H. Tablada, former KTTO Director, under the supervision of Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, whose leadership and encouragement helped steer the team toward this achievement.
The university also extends its sincere appreciation to its faculty and students whose unwavering support for intellectual property initiatives has been invaluable in achieving this milestone.
The award further highlights SLSU’s steadfast commitment to innovation, research excellence, and sustainable technology transfer, strengthened by teamwork and a shared vision for intellectual property advancement.
