FHTM Clinches Awards for Innovative Cebu Resort Extension Project

Southern Leyte State University Faculty of Hospitality, Tourism and Management formally recognized the successful completion of the extension project, “Hospitality Forward: Strategic Training & Consultancy Solutions for Hospitality and Food Industry Professionals,” implemented from January to December 2025. The initiative strengthened industry collaboration through a two-phase engagement that included comprehensive training for employees and supervisors across all departments, followed by strategic management consultancy to enhance organizational performance.

A plaque of recognition was presented by Mr. Reyl Marie Rebayla, Administration and Housekeeping Supervisor on behalf of the General Manager Atty. Roselle Jean Nonato Luciano of Palmbeach Resort and Spa in Mactan Cebu in appreciation of the project’s valuable contributions. The awarding ceremony was attended by Dr. Frances Ann Sy, Engr. Jonelle Tablada, and Engr. Khorina Tablada.

The project proponents, Dr. Dinah F. Catamco Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality, Tourism and Management and Alma M. Arnejo, Program Head of Hospitality Management, were likewise honored for their leadership and expertise in implementing the program.

The project significantly enhanced employee competencies and operational performance, contributing to smoother resort operations, improved service consistency, increased guest satisfaction, and a strengthened reputation for quality hospitality service.
