A coastal clean-up and mangrove planting activity was successfully conducted on February 26, 2026, in Tabugon, Liloan, Southern Leyte, bringing together students, faculty members, and local partners in a shared effort to protect and restore coastal ecosystems.

Students from BSEE-1B, led by Kevin Catambacan and Nico Vallinas, participated in the activity under the supervision of their instructor, Norberto Labata Jr. The initiative focused on removing coastal waste and planting mangroves to help strengthen shoreline protection, enhance marine biodiversity, and promote environmental responsibility within the community.

The activity was carried out in collaboration with Jimmy Salamida and Alieza Del Socorro, Associate Professors from the Faculty of Aquatic and Applied Life Sciences of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Bontoc Campus. The Department of Agriculture of the Municipality of Liloan, Southern Leyte, also extended its support to the initiative.
