SLSU–FCIS Represents Region VIII at CHED RAISE 2026

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), through the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences (FCIS), proudly served as an exhibitor at Commission on Higher Education (CHED) RAISE: Responding through AI for Societal Empowerment 2026 held on February 25–27, 2026 at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City, Philippines.

As one of two state universities from Region VIII to participate, SLSU was represented by Dean Czarina Ancella Gabi and Ms. Jannie Fleur Orano, Head of the Geographic Information Systems Technology Center (GISTC).


The summit highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in promoting inclusive growth, ethical innovation, and societal empowerment - advancing the National AI Strategy for the Philippines and CHED’s strategic agenda.

Through AI-enabled and technology-driven research initiatives, SLSU continues to strengthen its commitment to innovation with impact.
