SLSU delegates champion intercultural learning after Indonesia exchange program

Following their successful participation in an international cultural exchange program in Indonesia, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) delegates paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the President yesterday, January 27, 2026.

The participants enthusiastically shared how meaningful the experience was, citing strengthened intercultural competence, enhanced academic achievement, expanded international linkages, and the cultivation of deeper moral values and discipline shaped through cross-cultural immersion.

Dr. Jude A. Duarte underscored that participation in intercultural initiatives such as this broadens how young Kingfishers perceive the world, the nation, and themselves. He further challenged the delegates to continuously nurture and sustain the connections they have forged through convergence, academic and cultural exchanges, and strategic discourse across diverse fields.

The program brought together students and faculty members from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Technology, the Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology, and the Faculty of Education, Technology, and Innovation. The initiative was made possible through the collaborative guidance of the External Linkages and International Affairs, the Office of Student Engagement and Support Services, and the Office of Academic Affairs, collectively reinforcing SLSU’s commitment to global engagement, cultural diplomacy, and the holistic formation of globally competitive graduates.
